We Asked: What is the best way to market a new technique to clients?

Here is what you told us...

The best way to market a technique is by doing it. Once I get my hands on them, that's what sells the technique.

E-mail blasts to your client list, that's the most effective. It's fast, it has a call to action, and you can see the results immediately. We also often combine a promotion with it, that brings people in and encourages them to tell their friends about it.

In our case, being a day spa, we advertise it in written advertising, air time and in our brochures. When we add a new treatment to the brochures, we make sure there's a "new" sign next to it.
Diana Governale

What has always helped me is mailing out postcards of the ways the technique can help them, then holding an open house to demonstrate the technique. Not only does this generate the return of old clients, but new clients are interested.

For me, the best way to market a new technique is to begin to incorporate it into my massage, and to see the client's response. I give them a little taste, and if they're receptive to it, I say that was phenomenal touch, or that was shiatsu, and we could do a whole session of it.
