Self-Care tip of the week

Keep Moving for Better Vision

Maintaining an active lifestyle may be a key to keeping your eyes healthy as you age. Researchers followed 4,000 people for 15 years, and found that those who engaged in physical activity at least three times per week were 70 percent less likely to experience macular degeneration—the leading cause of vision loss in older people—than people who were sedentary. Scientists theorize that the benefit may be because activity reduces inflammation and improves blood vessel functioning.
