Nuts about Nuts

Nuts taste good and have lots of nutritional value. Now three studies find that nuts also help keep blood vessels healthy. Studies in California and Turkey found that pecans and pistachios, respectively, helped protect arteries from the damaging effects of LDL (bad) cholesterol. In Spain, a study found that walnuts reduced inflammation and increased elasticity of blood vessels. The beneficial effects appear to be present in all varieties of nuts.
