Increase
Body Awareness in 3D
The
principle that demands three-dimensional awareness—keeping
a conscious sense of the space equally around the body and whatever
occupies that space—assists us in several ways. We are better
able to balance in relationship to our surroundings, avoid obstacles,
realize more possibilities in which to move, and feel the three-dimensional
nature of our human bodies.
Exercise to increase Body Awareness:
Walking with a Cape
Imagine
you are walking around with a large billowy cape flowing out behind
you as you move. This will help lift your posture, bring to consciousness
a sense of your back and the space behind you, and increase your
sense of presence.
