Self-Care tip of the week

Reflexology for low energy and fatigue

Reduced energy levels, especially late in the day, can be the result of low blood-sugar levels. Since the pancreas is involved in regulating blood-sugar levels, working the pancreas reflex area 3-4 times a day may help the condition. Working the adrenal gland reflex areas may also help improve the production of adrenaline and thereby increase energy levels.

1. Thumb-walk over the pad at the base of the thumb where it joins the palm (pancreas and adrenal reflex areas), making a series of successive passes.

2. Roll a golf ball between both hands over the same areas for two minutes.

— adapted from Hand Reflexology by Barbara and Kevin Kunz (DK Publishing, 2006)
