Scottsdale, AZ. CG Funk, vice president of industry relations and product development for Massage Envy, is one of four newly elected beauty and wellness leaders to serve on the Beauty Changes Lives (BCL) Foundation Board of Directors.
Other newly elected directors are include Frank Cacciato, CEO of Katherine Frank Creative Inc.; Colin Walsh, president of DevaCurl; and Don Yearwood, owner, president and CEO of Carousel Beauty Colleges. Each person has been elected to serve a three-year term on the board.
Robert Passage, chairman and CEO of Pivot Point International Inc. has been re-elected to serve a three-year term on the BCL board. Remaining BCL directors continuing their terms include BCL Foundation President Lynelle Lynch, president and owner of Bellus Academy; Jan Arnold, co-founder and style director of CND; Reuben Carranza, president of specialty brands for Luxury Brand Partners; and Christine Gordon, president of Graham Webb Academy.
Lynch said the board’s representation of product brands, manufacturers and educators along with salon and spa authorities reflects the broad industry support BCL has engaged. “Each BCL board member has a personal connection to the industry and a life story about how beauty has changed their life. Collectively, they represent the enormous range of opportunities available to licensed professionals in the beauty and wellness industry,” Lynch said.
Each of the directors join the BCL board with a demonstrated commitment to leadership in beauty and wellness education. Yearwood serves as AACS president; and Cacciato, Passage and Lynch serve as directors on the AACS board. Like Yearwood, Lynch is owner of a cosmetology school, serving as president of Bellus Academy. Funk was instrumental in developing the Beauty Changes Lives Massage Therapy Scholarship and Walsh has been a long-time champion of continuing education within the salon community.

The foundation is a 501(c)(3) created by the American Association of Cosmetology Schools to build awareness of the extraordinary career opportunities available in the beauty and wellness industry and massage therapy. The foundation also organizes and participates in numerous philanthropic fundraisers that shine the spotlight on the charitable initiatives of the beauty and wellness community.
