New Massage Law for New Jersey?
posted: 12-12-07

A bill introduced in New Jersey in late November would replace current state regulations (www.massagemag.com/newjersey).

Three areas that would change if the bill passes are: The formation of a board of massage therapy to take over from the board of nursing; licensure of massage therapists, instead of certification; and mandatory registration of employers of massage therapists.

A law to regulate massage therapists was first passed in the state in 1999.
