SF Giants Mourn Passing of Team MT San Francisco Giants major-league baseball team massage therapist Kevin Shanahan passed away in late November at Stanford University Hospital after a long battle with cancer, according to a Giants press release. Shanahan, 51, completed 11 seasons as the Giants' massage therapist, and also ran a private massage practice in Menlo Park, California. "I'll always remember Kevin as someone who truly embraced life and its pleasures and shared that zest for life with everyone he came across in the training room," said Giants Head Athletic Trainer Dave Groeschner, in the release. "While he was instrumental in helping us get the players ready to perform both physically and mentally, on a personal level we all lost someone special in our lives …" "Kevin was an invaluable member of our medical staff and I know that he will be sorely missed by the players, staff and front office personnel," added the team's Senior Vice President and General Manager Brian Sabean. |
