MT Foundation Receives $10K

The massage field's national-certification organization has joined the rarefied group of entities who have donated $10,000 or more to the Massage Therapy Foundation.

The foundation announced the donation from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) on Jan. 5. The NCBTMB joins BIOTONE, Marsh Affinity Group Services and Oakworks, Inc., in the foundation's designation of president's circle of donors. Books of Discovery is designated a benefactor for its donation at the $20,000 to $99,999 level; the American Massage Therapy Association is a benefactor for its contribution of $100,000 or more.

The NCBTMB’s donation is earmarked for use in research, community service, and other educational initiatives and conferences, according to a foundation press release.

“The NCBTMB demonstrates true industry leadership with this donation in support of critical scientific research, community service, and educational programs that help to advance the knowledge and practice of massage therapy," said foundation President Diana Thompson.
