Program Helps Massage Therapists Who Have Limited Access to Continuing Education

SAN DIEGO--BIOTONE announces Access to Education, a scholarship program for professional massage therapists who have a strong commitment but limited access to continuing education. Selected applicants will receive funds to participate in a range of online courses offered by nationally recognized massage educator and author Whitney Lowe and his Orthopedic Massage Education & Research Institute (OMERI).

Unlike most Web-based instruction, OMERI’s unique courses combine the accessibility of an online program with the one-on-one attention necessary for student success. Each course integrates anatomy, kinesiology and clinical science in rehabilitation practice to help students develop essential skills for recognizing and treating numerous soft-tissue pathologies.

Eligible candidates for the BIOTONE Access to Education scholarship program must have a current Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) license and demonstrate limited geographical or financial access to continuing education programs. BIOTONE will offer scholarships on an ongoing basis. Candidates must complete an application form available at www.biotone.com/awards.

This annual Fund provides BIOTONE-funded scholarships to selected COMTA accredited schools, which in turn award them to promising massage students who have achieved educational excellence at the mid point in their training.
