Massage Helps Knee Osteoarthritis

Musculoskeletal conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, respond well to massage therapy, according to a new study. Researchers from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey set out to evaluate the effectiveness of massage therapy specifically for osteoarthritis (OA).

"Massage therapy for osteoarthritis of the knee: a randomized controlled trial" tested the efficacy of massage as treatment for OA of the knee.

The full research report of  “Massage Helps Knee Osteoarthritis,” ran in the print edition of MASSAGE Magazine's March 2007 issue.
