Yes - business is up at the massage franchise because they offer discount rates. If you frequent Massage Therapist on-line communities then you know what the rest of us already know... That business is DOWN. Regular clients are coming in less frequently. New client numbers are down. Many large spas are letting staff go and cutting hours for remaining staff.

I am a graduate of Boulder College of Massage Therapy and have been in private practice since 2006. I was fortunate from the beginning with a steady flow of clients however this past winter was my busiest yet. Many of my clients have said that they will cut out other items like cable and dining out before cutting out their massages. A great testament to our industry and how even in tough times we can assist our clients in living more peaceful lives.
