When the 2010 Winter Olympic Games open in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on Feb. 12, massage therapists will be hand to keep athletes in top form.

Massage therapist Alan Thomas is one of the massage therapists traveling to Vancouver for the Olympic Games. He was profiled this month by TV station WWSB-ABC 7 in Sarasota, Florida.

The Suncoast, Florida, massage therapist is originally from Australia but will be working as part of a

sports-massage team with U.S. athletes, according to an article on the station's website. Thomas massaged Australian athletes at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, the article noted.

"Though he has to work for the athletes the majority of his time in Vancouver, he does have one more dream he hopes to accomplish. 'If I could just see one event, it would just be amazing. Especially if U.S. picks up gold medal,'" the article quoted him as saying.
