SANTA ROSA, CA (March 17, 2010) - The desire to wrap oneself in warmth and comfort during the chilly winter days has inspired Indigenous’ Fall 2010 line of women’s, organic and fair-trade hand-knit premium apparel. The line features drapey, slightly oversized silhouettes in a variety of interesting textures and patterns, from cables and ribs to inventive stitches and modern geometric designs.

Pieces span eleven collections and include cardigans, wraps, zip jackets, coats, dresses, casual tops, pants and accessories, all handmade with care by artisans in South America.

“The artisans apply their amazing knitting heritage to combine ancient Incan knit patterns and textures with contemporary modern designs. This allows us to create a unique perspective within our collection,” said Matt Reynolds, co-founder and president of Indigenous.

“Unique fiber blends, textures and harmonious color combinations are evident through the entire collection,” he continued, “Nature’s bounty supplied us with plenty of inspiration, from luxury yarns such as free-range baby alpaca, organic cotton, silk and merino blends to rustic, natural buttons. “

The collection uses

eco-friendly dyes in dusky grays, blues and earthy browns. Romantic and velvety tones of burgundy, rosemary and eggplant also make appearances, lending a dynamic flash to the line.

Stand out pieces for 2010 include the Urban Zip in organic boucle yarn, a new fiber for Indigenous. Conducive to winter wear, boucle features a texture that provides a soft feel and cozy warmth.
