I've never had a sports massage--before today but tried one after a couple weeks of pain in my left knee and general lower back crunching after two weekends of long distance.
It was IT band bliss!
The difference between this and other techniques was
targeted massage on the problem areas, and also a lot of general body rolling and jiggling to coax taxed muscles back into place to perform better throughout the next several months of training.
