Article summary: Proper breathing clears away stress and tension, quiets the mind, increases internal energy and vitality, boosts metabolism and unifies mind, spirit and body.

1. Use when you need to relax or to bring yourself back into your body and be aware of your breathing. For sitting, standing or lying down.

2. Inhale in through the nose all the way down to the bottom of the belly.

3. Let the belly rise, and exhale out through parted lips with a “ha” sound by constricting through the throat while the belly falls.

4. Take in as many breaths as you need to move to relaxation.
