When designers created the new Spa of the Rockies, located next to the world’s largest mineral hot springs pool, they incorporated many design features built specifically to accommodate male clientele. Features like flat screen televisions, fireplaces, and special massage treatments cater to men.

Glenwood Springs, CO (PRWEB) May 21, 2009 — Stress is a fact of life in today’s world and coping with stress is more important than ever before. The new Spa of the Rockies in Glenwood Springs offers men a retreat from the daily grind, a place to take care of themselves as well as spend time with loved ones. Spa of the Rockies is the place where men can come to relax, refocus and recharge for whatever may lay ahead.

According to the International Spa Association (ISPA) 2008 Global Consumer Study, the primary reason for visiting a spa is to relax and reduce stress. Chronic stress can lead to some life altering illnesses such as heart attacks and strokes, especially in men, but it can also cause everyday ailments in the form of headaches, insomnia and lack of concentration all of which make it more difficult to cope with the pressures of daily life. ISPA President Lynne McNees puts it this way, “Stress affects more than just our lives at work and at home, it affects our health. So take time to de-stress, by getting a massage; it could end up saving your health down the road.”

“Helping people relax, men in particular, is what we do best,” says Spa of the Rockies Manager, Avalon Lionheart. Taking into account the fact that 31 percent of all U.S. spa-goers are men, according to the ISPA 2006 Spa-Goer Study, the new Spa of the Rockies has created a menu of treatments that invite men to relax and decompress.

Massage is a great way to release tension and de-stress. It’s the most frequently requested treatment among men, according to ISPA, which explains why the Spa of the Rockies’ Classic Swedish Massage and Deep Tissue Massage are favorites for guys. But other treatments are also often requested by men. “We see a lot of men come here with their loved ones for couples treatments. It’s a great way to reconnect and spend time together. We’re also seeing more men come in for therapeutic reasons,” explains Lionheart. Other notable spa treatments for men include the Unifying Foot Reflexology and Men’s Sport Manicures and Pedicures.

In addition to treatments, the physical space of the Spa of the Rockies was designed with male visitors in mind. Lionheart explains that the men’s locker room facility is a space where men can feel comfortable and at ease. There are three flat screen TVs in the men’s locker room because “studies have shown that men tend to relax when they are watching TV,” says Lionheart. Two of the TVs are mounted above fireplaces in the two tub rooms named Symmetry and Repose. Before a massage, Spa of the Rockies’ male guests can begin to unwind with a mineral soak while watching the game on ESPN! Soothing hues of earth and sky, dark wood accents, as well as complimentary razors, aftershave and mouthwash add to the calming atmosphere.

Stress is an inevitable part of daily life. The Spa of the Rockies offers men ways to relax, take care of themselves, and rejuvenate body and mind.
