SAN DIEGO (June 10, 2011) – ALLEGRA Learning Solutions, an approved provider for continuing education by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), announces two new course offerings: Naturopathy: A Natural System of Healing and Anxiety Disorders: An Integrative Approach.
Naturopathy: A Natural System of Healing (1.5 contact hours)
Naturopathic medicine has a long, complex and fascinating history. Considered a way of life and a system of healing encompassing many different modalities, naturopathy is experiencing a resurgence today as a result of the dissatisfaction many Americans feel about conventional medicine and their growing interest and respect for alternative and complementary healing methods. This course provides an overview of naturopathy, reviews its history, examines the principles and schools of thought that comprise this healing system and describes the issues inherent in its future.
Anxiety Disorders: An Integrative Approach (2.5 contact hours)
Anxiety disorders are the most frequently occurring mental disorders. Research suggests massage therapy is effective at reducing anxiety by evoking feelings of deep relaxation, improving emotional resilience and enhancing feelings of general well-being. This course provides an overview of anxiety disorders and examines conventional and integrative treatment modalities.
