AMTA Narrows $5,000 Student Scholarship Candidates to Top 20, MASSAGE MagazineEvanston, IL. The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) student scholarship program attracted an overwhelming response from applicants, and the association announced it has narrowed the final candidates to 20. The recipient of the Student Scholarship will be announced in early September.

“We are very excited about the ability of this new program to help foster the development of new massage therapists,” says AMTA President Winona Bontrager. “This whole program is about the future of massage therapy and encouraging new massage therapists toward excellence in their profession.”

In February, AMTA announced its new AMTA Student Scholarship program as an exciting new initiative to support the next generation of massage therapists. This program invited students to participate in an essay contest where one applicant will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship.

The deadline for students to complete the application for a chance to receive the scholarship was May 31. This scholarship challenges massage school students to strive for excellence in their study of massage therapy and be rewarded for their devotion to the profession.

AMTA encourages students to watch for details about upcoming AMTA scholarship opportunities or e-mail scholarship@amtamassage.org for updates.
