Evanston, Illinois (April 16, 2012): – The American Massage Therapy Association® (AMTA®) is proud to announce that it has been recognized by the Association Media & Publishing (AM&P) for the excellence of AMTA’s Find a Massage Therapist® locator service and its Fundamentals of Fascia Therapy: AMTA Fascial Therapy Continuing Education Program Part One. AM&P’s EXCEL Awards honor the best and the brightest in association media and publishing.

“We are thrilled that AMTA has been recognized for pioneering ideas in association media and publishing,” says AMTA President Cynthia Ribeiro. “These innovative resources can help our members grow their practices and give them a competitive edge in the massage therapy profession.”

AMTA’s Find a Massage Therapist locator service was recently enhanced, allowing for more customized profiles, mapping features and mobile access. Fundamentals of Fascia Therapy: AMTA Fascial Therapy Continuing Education Program, released in 2011, is the written, part one component of AMTA’s comprehensive program outlining elementary information on the numerous techniques related to fascial therapy.

For many years, the association’s publication and media efforts have been recognized. Last year, AMTA social media innovation, especially its approach as a nonprofit association on Facebook, was awarded a Gold EXCEL Award, while its online Career Guidance section received a Silver Award.

The American Massage Therapy Association is the largest non-profit, professional association serving massage therapists, massage students and massage schools. The association is directed by volunteer leadership and fosters ongoing, direct member-involvement through its 51 chapters. AMTA works to advance the profession through ethics and standards, the promotion of fair and consistent licensing of massage therapists in all states, and public education on the benefits of massage.
