Award presented at the American Massage Conference

Ann Catlin Receives 2012 Performance Health / ONE Concept Humanitarian Award, MASSAGE Magazine

Akron, Ohio – June 4, 2012 – Ann Catlin, founder and director of the Center for Compassionate Touch, received the 2012 Performance Health / ONE Concept Humanitarian Award at the American Massage Conference (AMC) in San Diego, California. The award recognizes individuals and organizations that have made significant, enduring contributions to humanity.

Bob Poirier, vice president of commercial operations for Performance Health, had the honor of presenting the award to Catlin. “This year’s honoree has focused her efforts on the elder population through her business and as a result, has promoted healing, relieved pain and provided comfort to those living with the effects of aging, disease and disabilities. She has truly enriched the lives of countless individuals.”

In addition to honoring Catlin at the AMC, Performance Health provided her with a check for $1,000 check to be awarded to the charity of her choice, the Massage Therapy Foundation.

“The Massage Therapy Foundation has done so much to help the massage profession gain credibility through research, while enabling therapists to reach out to underserved people by funding Community Service Grants,” Catlin said. “I love that therapists have a way to access our homeless, our frail elders, our disabled, and others whose lives are uplifted by the gift of touch.”
