The Ariana Institute has announced the completion of its newest online instructional video: Soothing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Trauma in a Therapeutic Setting. This new video is designed to show continuing education students some of the massage modalities that can be used to provide comfort and care to clients whose lives have been touched by trauma. It also covers relevant information regarding how to communicate with a client with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and how to be mindful of someone who has been affected by trauma.
Massage therapy and bodywork has tremendous power to heal physically, mentally and spiritually. The Ariana Institute believes that those affected by trauma can find comfort in the healing power of touch, and aims to educate therapists about their roles in the healing process. This course counts as six hours of continuing education for massage therapists and is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
In addition to this new video, the Ariana Institute’s Soothing PTSD and Trauma continuing education course also includes a course notebook full of relevant information, as well as an informative online PowerPoint presentation podcast designed to further anchor the information that is provided.
