Aventura Clothing increases their Eco-awareness through their product and corporate practices.

Sparks, Nevada (PRWEB) June 25, 2009 — Aventura Clothing, a leader in fashionable, Eco-friendly women’s clothing, is taking their green initiative one step further. Sportif USA, Inc., parent to Aventura Clothing, has implemented multiple environmentally conscious practices in order to reduce their corporate carbon footprint.

“Located in the Sierra Nevada’s, one of the most naturally beautiful parts of the U.S., why would we not want to do our part to reduce our resource consumption?” Tom Williamson, Vice President of Marketing of Aventura said. “Aventura Clothing prides itself on ‘helping the earth… one garment at a time’. By using organically grown products and company wide practices that are Eco-friendly, Aventura Clothing is making a bigger impact everyday.”

Every aspect of the Aventura Clothing line operates with the environment in mind. The Aventura Spring 2010 workbook was printed on 30 percent post-consumer waste paper using soy ink. In addition, the Spring 2010 line will be made from 92 percent Eco-fabrics and all products are packed in 100 percent recycled poly bags. From ordering to shipping, Aventura stays committed to its Eco-impacted goal: Aventura Clothing is shipped with recycled boxes, packing peanuts and paper.

Sportif and Aventura have implemented multiple internal recycling practices as well. The employee break room offers 4 large bins for paper, plastic, aluminum and an additional one that offers employees the chance to bring in their CFL light bulbs and batteries so they may be properly recycled. Annually, Sportif, in conjunction with a local company, also recycles all outdated computer monitors, keyboards, pc’s and other IT equipment.

“Involving our employee’s is key,” Williamson said. ” When each employee takes the time to consider the environment in everyday actions, we know that it will show through our product.”

With the bigger picture in mind, Aventura Clothing has also made many investments to their warehouse and corporate offices to substantially cut energy use. Aventura Clothing now uses server virtualization that allowed for multiple servers to run on one, cutting down on energy use and heat output. An air exchange cooling system was also installed to only run when the temperatures reach above desired. This systems works in conjunction with the cool Nevada nights, exchanging air from the inside with the outside. This cut CO2 annually by 55,636 pounds.
