DENVER, Colo. — The Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy is proud to announce the grand opening of its new campus. Previously located in the historic Wyman District, the Institute has moved to the heart of the Mile High City in Lower Downtown (LODO) Denver, Colorado. The campus will be open for business as of March 9, 2015. The new campus address is 2048 Larimer Street, Suite 200, Denver, Colorado, 80205.
Berkana offers a 600- to 675-hour basic certification program in massage therapy, which prepares graduates for licensure in the state of Colorado, most of the United States and some international regions. This program is accelerated and can be completed in only five months. The Institute also provides continuing education opportunities for licensed massage therapists, as well as the NCBTMB-approved, 6-week intensive, 250-hour certification training in Berkana’s original modality, Mindful Expressionism®.
As an important part of the education at Berkana, student therapists participate in the student clinic and provide massage therapy to the public at greatly discounted rates. It also provides up to 1200 supervised student massage therapy sessions in the student clinic each year.
Jill Kristin Berkana, L.M.T., B.C.M.T., is the founder and director of the Institute. She has been a massage therapy educator for over a decade and is an industry expert and massage therapy education pioneer. She has started two successful massage therapy schools and has granted diplomas to more than 250 graduates.
Berkana said she is very excited about the new campus where she and her faculty deliver an exclusive, highly professional education in the art of massage therapy. She has gathered some of the most influential bodywork educators in the profession as her advisory board members and faculty.
The Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy is approved and regulated by the State of Colorado Department of Education Division of Private Occupational Schools. The school has a strong emphasis on mindfulness, yoga, movement, bodywork and professional ethics.
The Institute offers a unique approach to massage therapy education with commitment to the following ideals:
