A $15,000 donation made by BIOTONE, a spa-and-massage products company, will help fund two community service grants bestowed by the Massage Therapy Foundation.
BIOTONE’s contribution this year makes it possible for individuals going through serious life-changing experiences to benefit from massage, according to a press release.
The donation will support:
• Free Fulfillment, a program offered by the Exodus Transitional Community out of Brooklyn, New York, to provide stress-reducing professional massage to former inmates attempting to begin new lives following their release from prison.
and
• Grief Massage, a program offered by The Respite in Charlotte, North Carolina, which helps people reclaim their lives following the loss of a loved one.
Since 2004, BIOTONE has been a major foundation donor, contributing more than $100,000 to the foundation’s programs and services.
The Massage Therapy Foundation advances the knowledge and practice of massage by supporting scientific research, education and community service.
