Evanston, IL – BIOTONE, a manufacturer of professional massage and spa therapy products has contributed $15,000 to the Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) to support the foundation’s community service efforts. BIOTONE has been a major donor and industry leader over the years, contributing more than $90,000 to MTF programs and services since 2004.

“It warms our heart to be able to contribute to the Massage Therapy Foundation’s mission to deliver the benefits massage therapy to individuals who might otherwise not receive the personal touch and care due to their economic or geographic circumstances,” said Jean Shea, BIOTONE’s founder and president. “We appreciate and look forward to helping MTF in the dedicated quest to deepen the understanding of massage therapy for many years to come in enabling more and more individuals in need the chance to enhance their physical and mental well-being through the healing touch of massage.”

BIOTONE’s latest gift will support two MTF Community Service Grants, including a project entitled “Integrating Massage with La Clinica de la Mariposa,” which will aid in providing massage therapy services to a Costa Rican clinic serving a variety of clients with limited income who are unable to afford the cost of health care in Costa Rica.

The second grant which BIOTONE’s gift will support is “Touching Lives,” in Houston, Texas, conducted by the Bee Busy Wellness Center. This Community Service Grant will encourage proactive wellness and provide the health benefits of massage to its clientele who live at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty level.
