One of the leading manufacturers of massage and spa body-care products, BIOTONE, this week announced its donation of $5,000 to the Council of Community Clinics to help fund diagnostics for breast cancer. The San Diego, California-based Council of Community Clinics provides centralized support services to 16 member community clinics and health-center organizations operating nearly 100 sites in San Diego, Imperial and Riverside Counties in California.

“With BIOTONE’s help, we are able to work with our member community clinics to provide important diagnostics to screen for breast cancer,” said Gary Rotto, director of health policy for the Council of Community Clinics. “A visit to your local community clinic can link you to these services on a timely basis.”

Breast cancer research and prevention have been major priorities for BIOTONE in its corporate giving programs, said Jean Shea, BIOTONE president. “We helped fund critical research on the benefits of massage therapy to boost the immune functionality of women with breast cancer,” she said.

“Over the years, we also have supported National Breast Cancer Awareness Month through special promotions, donating a percentage of sales to Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” Shea continued. “Today’s announcement is yet another expression of BIOTONE’s continued commitment to help in the fight against breast cancer.”

BIOTONE sponsors the Massage Creams Resource Center for MASSAGE Magazine, on www.massagemag.com.
