Monsoon Season in Arizona is now officially June 15 through September 30, and what better way to celebrate than with the Rain Massage at Agave, The Arizona Spa. Developed by Agave spa therapist Matthew Murdock, the Rain Massage is an exclusive treatment to Agave, The Arizona Spa. With the use of smooth, warmed, rain sticks, specially formulated rain oil and rain mist, guests will find themselves taking the journey of the Rain.

This brand new treatment, exclusive to Agave, The Arizona Spa, recognizes that rain is a precious commodity in the desert. The Rain Massage utilizes special rain sticks that are carved with good luck symbols and petroglyphs from the Arizona Indian Rock Drawing. These include the signs of success and prosperity, strength and victory, and love and joy. The deep warmth of the rain sticks paired with the sound of falling rain will leave guests feeling relaxed, renewed and as if they are on their own personal wellness retreat.

Like the desert we live in needs rain to survive, the human body needs rest and replenishment to combat the stresses of life, said Spa Director Loren Anderson. The Rain Massage at Agave is sure to leave guests feeling rejuvenated, just like the blooming desert after the rain.

The journey guests take during the treatment is defined by their body™s natural rhythm. It could be still like a lake, powerful like the ocean, swift moving like a roaring river or steady like a stream. Made up of 70% water, the body, like the earth, must come back to a balance in order for it to thrive and work most effectively.

As a part of the treatment, Agave spa therapists ask guests to visualize the rain and the journey it takes during its lifetime. Using the unique rowing technique created just for this treatment, therapists wash out negative energy and chi from the head to the toes, just like the rain falling from the sky cleans the air. Renewing energy and fluids, just like the water the rain brings, nourishes and replenishes the body, keeping a balance in all things organic.

Only you can decide where the rain will take you, Murdock said.
