Massage has been shown to lower blood pressure, and a new compilation of research points out other factors that lower – and raise – blood pressure.
According to research compiled by the American Society of Hypertension:
• Using a cell phone causes a significant rise in blood pressure;
• A study on the effects of yoga on hypertension concluded that yoga can significantly lower blood pressure;
• Hypertensive individuals prefer more salt in their food than do normotensive individuals; and
• A primary care physician’s healthy lifestyle behaviors may be linked to his or her recommendations for hypertension prevention.
