Bridgeview, Illinois (April 21, 2009) — The Chicago Red Stars have partnered with the Soma Institute to provide Red Stars players and fans a unique opportunity to receive exceptional massage therapy.

During the 2009 Women’s Professional Soccer season, the Soma Institute will provide professional massage therapists for the Red Stars training sessions and on select game days at TOYOTA PARK. Red Stars fans will also have a chance to benefit from the partnership, as the Soma Institute will offer special discounted massage opportunities.

“The Soma Institute is a top-notch educational institution that provides world-class massage therapy,” said Red Stars General Manager Marcia McDermott. “There is no one better to trust with the care of our world-class athletes than the Soma experts.”

Red Stars players will also assist in the education of Soma Institute students by participating in graduate school clinic sessions at the downtown Chicago school this summer. The program will utilize the team’s athletes as teaching tools for students learning the techniques of top level massage therapy.

“We are excited about our partnership with the Chicago Red Stars organization,” said Soma founder and President Joan Hannant. “Our students and professional therapists will have a unique opportunity to apply their specialized clinical skills on world-class athletes to enhance the players’ athletic performance.”

The Chicago Red Stars return to action this Saturday, April 25th at 7:30 pm against Heather Mitts and the Boston Breakers at TOYOTA PARK in Bridgeview. Chicago 2016 will hand out wristbands to fans and GreenLaces will be on hand to celebrate Earth Day. For tickets, call (866) WPS-2009 or log on to www.chicagoredstars.com.
