Integrative health care combines Western medical approaches with traditional therapies such as massage, herbs and acupuncture in order to effect a healing outcome. Now, integrative medical organizations in the U.S. are eligible to earn specialized certification.
On March 22 the American Association of Integrative Medicine (AAIM) announced its new accreditation program, which recognizes organizations that meet certain criteria.
“For integrative medicine training, certification programs, and clinics, accreditation will provide a reliable indicator of quality, an external source of motivation through which to improve educational programs, shows concern for consumer protection and demonstrates an organizations commitment to pursuing high standards,” an AAIM press release noted.
