06.19.14_Do-it-Yourself Beauty Made Simple and Organic with Aura Cacia's New OilsUrbana, Iowa —Two new organic skin care oils — vegetable glycerin and castor oil — have been added to Aura Cacia’s line of natural and organic skincare products.

  • Organic vegetable glycerin makes a great blending agent and emulsifier to many natural and do-it-yourself (DIY) beauty products. It can add moisture and keep natural products well-preserved.
  • Organic castor oil has been used in health promotion and cosmetic applications for centuries. With a thicker viscosity, this oil is ideal for natural skin solutions such as soaps, salves and creams.

“Vegetable glycerin is a wonderful addition to homemade moisturizing soaps, facial toners and lip balms, while castor oil, with its thicker viscosity, makes ideal in so many natural skin solutions,” said Shannon Ousley, director of marketing for Aura Cacia. “Both are a must-have for DIY-ers.”

Both oils will be available in 4-ounce and 16-ounce sizes in stores July 2014.

In addition to enjoying these oils’ skin care benefits, consumers can also feel good about giving back through their purchase. Aura Cacia gives back 1 percent of the sales of organic products to support farmers and their communities that produce our organic ingredients.

“By offering organic versions of both of these oils, we can do more than just offer products that rejuvenate and restore your skin,” Ousley added. “Aura Cacia’s 1 Percent Organic Fund is attached to this product line, which will help generate funds to be given back to our organic farmers and their communities.”
