Lifestyle show turns cameras on popular, growing massage franchise with tips on relieving stress and building a better life

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – (May 27, 2010) – Elements Therapeutic Massage, one of the fastest-growing franchises in America, is rubbing Massachusetts the right way. That’s according to WCVB’s Chronicle TV show, which featured Elements and the growing popularity of therapeutic massage for an episode on building a better life. (Note, the massage segment begins three minutes into the video: www.thebostonchannel.com/video/23690873/index.html.)

Franchise owner Sandy Mayer welcomed Chronicle cameras into her Elements Therapeutic Massage studio in Newton, one of 12 in Massachusetts, to give viewers an upclose look at the accessibility and affordability of therapeutic massage thanks to the expanding national chain. The show also interviewed customers about the benefits of massage therapy that they and a growing number of Boston-area residents are seeking on a regular basis.

“It’s a tension breaker that won’t break the bank,” the show stated. With monthly massages starting less than $60, more clients are giving regular massage therapy a higher priority.

Elements Therapeutic Massage announced record revenue for its franchise studios in Massachusetts in 2009, making it perfect Chronicle material about a company breaking new ground and changing the way people live. Despite a challenging economy, more customers continue to seek massage therapy at area Elements locations. Average revenues at Elements Therapeutic Massage locations in Massachusetts were up on average by 37 percent over 2008 and by 27 percent overall nationwide.*

“Our business does help people build a better life,” said Bob Haimes, chief growth officer of Elements Therapeutic Massage, in reaction to the TV show. “We do that for customers seeking massage therapy to reduce stress, provide pain relief and promote overall well-being. And we also do that for our franchise owners who are growing in number and locations, owning their own business in a large and growing industry.”

In Massachusetts, repeat business, referrals and membership enrollments are at an all-time high for visits to local studios. Elements Therapeutic Massage also has plans to award 12 more studios in the region.
