In order to track the effectiveness of your marketing, it is important to evaluate your client relationships to see if they are the types of clients you imagined when you began your practice.

Are there some types of clients you don’t have very many of and wish to build on that customer base? Are there many repeat clients? What is my average income from the different types of clients? Where are these clients coming from? What opportunities am I missing by not catering to client demands and needs? What is my client level of satisfaction? What can I do to improve my client’s relationship? Which clients should I focus more energy on? Which clients have I lost, and why?

Give some thought to surveying your current clients and asking them for their opinions and feedback. You would be surprised how easily they provide this very important information. When in doubt, always go to the client. When you send out your follow-up thank-you note after every session, you can include a brief opinion sheet your clients can fill out and send back to you. If you keep the line of communciation flowing, you will be more inclined to thrive in your profession.

Remember the words of Carl Jung, “Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”
