Assessment of the Cervical Spine & Shoulder

This one-day seminar will review the pertinent anatomy of the cervical spine and shoulder including muscles and bones of the area. Mechanical versus Non Mechanical causes of cervical spine and shoulder pain will be reviewed. History taking and assessment of the client with shoulder or cervical spine pain along with special assessment tests will be discussed. The following conditions will be reviewed along with their clinical presentation: facet syndrome, disc herniations and protrusions, cervical strains and sprains, osteoarthritis of the cervical spine, rotator cuff injuries, impingement syndromes of the shoulder, bursitis of the shoulder, snapping scapula, thoracic outlet syndrome, frozen shoulder, bicipital tendonitis, and tears of the glenoid labrum. The referral patterns for trigger points will also be discussed. Massage techniques will be presented to work on the above conditions.
