Releasing the Rotator Cuff

May 19 @ 8:00 am - 3:30 pm

Strategies for Restoring the Rotator Cuff
The shoulder complex is the most freely moveable part of our body, which makes it is highly susceptible to injury and dysfunction. As a therapist, you have probably seen your fair share of clients who have experienced shoulder pain or injury. In addition, if you practice manual therapy in your clinical setting, then you are at a high risk of rotator cuff/shoulder injuries. People with rotator cuff/shoulder dysfunctions and injuries suffer constant pain, interrupted sleep, and loss of range of motion. A comprehensive understanding of the shoulder complex and the skills to precisely release the affected muscles are of the utmost importance to bring your clients (and possibly yourself) to a pain-free state.

In this one-day seminar, Peggy Lamb, MA, LMT, NCTMB, guides participants through various releasing techniques and stretching strategies for the rotator cuff. Her primary method, called Muscle Swimming, incorporates elements of deep tissue, myofascial release, and trigger point techniques that glide the fascial layers and involve the neurology of active muscle contraction. This lab-intensive course is essential for any rehab or medical professional working toward assisting their clients with shoulder pain and helping them achieve an injury-free state.
