Trigger-point therapy is a precise therapeutic approach for treating acute and chronic pain that builds up inside muscle tissue. This course will teach therapists the method for recognizing, treating and dissolving trigger points all over the body. It will also incorporate teaching all of the musculoskeletal conditions in the upper and lower extremity that are pertinent to a massage therapist. The therapist will understand and learn to recognize each condition, its symptoms, referred pain patterns and a systematic approach for resolving the conditions using trigger-point therapy. With the completion of this course each therapist will understand how to manually manipulate trigger points to dissolve them or lessen their irritation in the muscle tissue of their clients. This method incorporates the teachings of Janet Travell, M.D. This course includes both hands-on and lecture.
