Treatment Sequencing: Where do I begin with my clients?

October 16, 2016

Sunday, October 16, 2016

9am to 6pm

8 CE hours

with Joe Belanger

Do you ever get tired or frustrated, feeling like you’re constantly chasing your client’s pains like you’re being taken on a wild goose chase? As soon as one of the symptoms seems to be improving, another one pops up in another area. Have you ever thought that maybe their neck or back pain isn’t coming from those areas, but where is it coming from?! How can you tell? In this practical course, Joe will share his client “screening” methods which he has learned and added to in his 23 years of practicing holistic manual therapy. The focus of this one day class is to learn how to test and “ask” their body, through palpation, what areas are truly immobile and which of these areas is the primary restriction at that time. When this areas gets worked with, through whatever modality you’re comfortable using, then significant changes can occur in all the systems of the body. The goal being a lasting change in your client because you are addressing the primary restrictions in their structure. This is so important with each client, but is critical with those of us that work frequently with chronic pain clients or those whose symptoms aren’t responding well to other means. Through lecture, course manual, models and bones, demonstrations, client histories and supervised hands-on practice, you will learn the palpation tests Joe uses with every client. We will perform “challenge or screening” tests to each area of the body, including the cranium, entire spine, ribcage, pelvis, each extremity, as well as the hands and feet. You will learn what normal movement is for these areas and what it feels like when a specific area truly needs to be treated. Begin to trust or deepen your trust in what you feel with your clients so you can help them even more efficiently get to what’s causing their symptoms. This class is appropriate for all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced.
