The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced in late November via press release the addition of four new board members:

• Michael McGillicuddy, owner and instructor of USA Pro-Sports Massage Therapy Clinic, a continuing education company based in Winter Park, Florida. McGillicuddy was appointed to the board. Effective immediately, he will begin serving a three-year term.

• Bruce Baltz. The board of directors elected Baltz as chair-elect. A former NCBTMB-approved provider committee member and current member of NCBTMB’s board of directors, Baltz has more than 28 years of industry experience. His term as chair-elect is effective immediately.

• Teresa M. Matthews, L.M.T., C.P.T., N.C.T.M.B. Matthews has owned and operated a massage school in Jacksonville, Florida, for 18 years. Matthews will join the board of directors beginning Jan. 1, 2014, for a four-year term.

• Stuart Watts, D.O.M. Watts has worked for both practitioners’ rights and the rights of the public throughout his 40-year career. As a teacher, he has taught workshops throughout the world and been a speaker at several national conventions in traditional Chinese medicine. Watts will join the board of directors beginning Jan. 1, 2014, for a four-year term.
