In “Join The Health Care Revolution,” the Guest Editorial in MASSAGE Magazine’s May 2011 issue, Stephanie Mines, Ph.D., details how massage and other touch therapies teach clients to trust their own bodies and intelligence, making it possible for them to evolve and to see themselves at the center of their own health care.

“We live in a world that is constantly being inundated by waves of confusion about what health care is and who is responsible for it,” Mines writes. “In the midst of this chaos, there are vital, energized massage therapists with a firm grasp of the relationship between wholeness and health. We are changing the paradigm of health care as an authoritarian system to health care as sustainable, empowering and client centered.”
