HAMILTON, N.J. — Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa is riding a record-breaking wave from 2014. Looking to make an even greater splash in 2015, the brand launched Hand & Stone Rewards this January, a nationwide member rewards program, as well as a mobile app for members to book appointments and learn about the brand’s offerings.
The exclusive member rewards program allows Hand & Stone members to earn points redeemable for everything from massage and facial services to gift cards. Members are automatically enrolled in the program and new members get 500 points for joining. Points can be earned for various actions, including booking online, pre-booking and referrals. In addition, members get five points for every dollar spent. Points can be redeemed at any Hand and Stone location in the U.S.
“We decided to launch Hand & Stone Rewards so that, in addition to great service, we could give back to our members and show them how much we value their experience with us,” Todd Leff, president and CEO of Hand & Stone, said. “We put a great emphasis on quality and loyalty. The member rewards program is a great way to show our appreciation to our guests.”
Hand & Stone Rewards is just the first initiative in 2015 that the brand has implemented to continue their momentum of upward growth. The brand also launched a mobile app that allows members to search and schedule appointments, view past services and access information on their accounts, including rewards points balances.
The brand began 2015 with more than 200 spa locations and plans to open 65 new spas over the course of the year. Hand & Stone is projected to reach $188-million in system-wide sales for the year, up from $125 million in 2014, fueled by strong comparable store sales and new unit growth. In 2014 the Hand & Stone system achieved another year of 25-percent comparable store growth, the fourth straight year of comparable sales growth in excess of 20 percent.
Leff said he attributes this rapid expansion to Hand & Stone’s emphasis on customer service, as well as its affordable month-to-month Lifestyle Program, which gives clients the ability to add regular massages to their lifestyles at a price that matches their budget.
“Before Hand & Stone made inroads into offering spa services to the middle market, many people perceived services like ours as an indulgence,” Leff said. “Now that we can offer the same therapeutic services that customers received at day spas at a far lower cost and more conveniently, people can see that adding a regular massage or facial has a real benefit to their health and everyday sense of well-being.”
