Researchers at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center discovered a significant improvement in Leukemia patients who used Healing Touch therapy while hospitalized, according to HealthNewsDigest.com.

Over the course of five weeks, researchers looked for improvements in fatigue, nausea, distress, and pain — all symptoms of a Leukemia patient. Each patient received three sessions per week, and a final, overall measure was recorded during the fifth week.

The study discovered that fatigue levels went down by an average of 1.8, while levels of nausea went down by 0.5. There was no significant change in the remaining symptoms, but researchers believe that further studies are needed among large groups, as well as controlled groups, which weren’t included in this study.
