Grant program, supported by BIOTONE® and Biofreeze®, financially benefits both students and schools.
Akron, OH. The Helping Hands Gifts for Growth Grant Program is accepting applications from professional massage students through Nov. 1, 2013. This program, sponsored by BIOTONE® and Biofreeze®, supports students in their educational pursuits or endeavors to launch a massage therapy practice. Students can apply for one of four $1,000 grants. In addition, each winner’s school will receive a $1,000 grant package.
“We are very pleased with the response we have received to date on this collaborative program,” stated Jean Shea, president of BIOTONE. “Since launching the Helping Hands program in May, we have received applications from hundreds of students representing over 100 schools.”
The grant funds can be used for program fees, books and supplies or to purchase product and equipment needed for training or launching a massage therapy practice.
“With the program ending in just about 60 days, we encourage all students to apply and encourage all schools to spread the word! The more students that apply from a school, the better the school’s chance of winning a $1,000 grant package,” added Marshall Dahneke, CEO of Performance Health, makers of Biofreeze. “We created a communications tool kit to enable schools to easily share this program with their students. “I would also like to encourage all schools and students to attend the upcoming AMC/One Concept Conference being held in San Diego on Sept. 13-15, 2013,” continued Shea. “We will award four $500 student grants at the conference. No application is required; students simply complete an entry card at the conference.”

About Helping Hands Gifts for Growth Grant Program
Current massage therapy students can apply online for one of four $1,000 grants. This application requires a 100 word essay on “How as a massage therapist my helping hands will make a difference.” A team of industry representatives will review all submissions to choose the four winners. In addition to the students’ $1,000 grants, their schools will receive a $500 grant and a $500 product package. Applications must be received by Nov. 1, 2013. Winners will be notified by Dec. 1, 2013.
