Massage therapists and bodyworkers can use a prescription pad to increase referrals from the medical community. This piece can be distributed to medical doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors, physical therapists and physical rehab clinics, etc. I have included an example at the end of this tip.
Distributing a prescription pad with your name and logo on it makes it easier for the doctor or clinic to refer new clients. Most of the work is done for them; all they need to do is fill it out and sign it. This keeps you in front of them (from a marketing standpoint) on a consistent basis. In addition, it looks more professional to them and their patients.
This template example (which you can access here) is set up in Microsoft Word as a 2-up on 8.5 x 11 paper in landscape format. The word template can be edited in Word 2000 or later.
Once you have edited the template to suit your particular needs, simply print, cut in half (5.5 x 8.5) and distribute to the medical professionals in your area. It is best to include a cover letter introducing your credentials and a description of modalities. This will give you a reason to visit these professionals—and once they have your prescription pad, you will be receive more professional referrals.
