Hyatt Regency Tamaya Named One of the Best Spas in the Country, MASSAGE MagazineThe Pueblo of Santa Ana – (May 20, 2011) – The Tamaya Mist Spa at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, located between Albuquerque and Santa Fe in New Mexico, has recently been named one of the top 10 resort spas in the country by Condé Nast Traveler, one of the nation’s leading travel magazines. The Tamaya Mist Spa was ranked as the eighth best resort spa in the mainland U.S. in the June issue of Condé Nast Traveler magazine. The spa was ranked by people who have received treatments and services at the Tamaya Mist Spa and from readers of the magazine.

The Tamaya Mist Spa has been named among the best spas by Condé Nast Traveler for the past three consecutive years, receiving a top 10 spot this year in the mainland U.S. category. The spas were rated based on each spa’s staff, facilities, treatments and overall score. The Tamaya Mist Spa is one of only two spas that received a perfect score of 100 for its treatments, giving the spa an overall score of 95.8 according to the magazine’s ranking.

“It is an incredible honor to be recognized for the third consecutive year by Condé Nast Traveler readers as having one of the best resort spas in the country. An award like this is a testament to our high-quality spa treatments and the exceptional service we provide our guests,” said Steve DeFelice, director of sales and marketing of the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. “The Tamaya Mist Spa offers customized and unique spa treatments that are indigenous to New Mexico and we are thrilled that our guests have rated us so highly on a national level.”

The Tamaya Mist Spa offers multiple Journey Treatments that are inspired by the migratory journey the Tamayame, (people of Tamaya) took before settling in the valley of their home. The spa’s full-day “journey experiences” are designed to treat the whole body through detoxifying, hydration, exfoliation and restoring. Each journey utilizes products harvested from or inspired by its namesake place. “One of our most popular treatments at the Tamaya Mist Spa is the unique Ancient Drumming treatment which incorporates an application of mud from the Jemez Mountains that is infused with New Mexico’s red chile, creating a highly detoxifying mud masque treatment,” said DeFelice.
