Fitness pioneer and myotherapy expert, Bonnie Prudden, dies at age 97
MASSAGE Magazine has learned that Bonnie Prudden, a fitness pioneer and founder of Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy®, passed away Dec. 11, 2011, at her home in Tucson, Arizona. She was 97 years old.
Before developing Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy®, a noninvasive method of relieving muscle pain, in 1976, Prudden was an accomplished fitness enthusiast, even launching a line of fitness fashions on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 1957. After introducing her technique, she penned Myotherapy: Bonnie Prudden’s Complete Guide to Pain-Free Living and, in 2006, was inducted into the Fitness Hall of Fame and Massage Hall of Fame.
