Massage therapist Mercedes Clemens may resume her equine massage practice, with a decision May 6 by the Maryland Board of Chiropractic and Massage Therapy Examiners to allow her to do so.

The board was “urged” by Circuit Judge David A. Boynton to backtrack the cease-and-desist order it sent to Clemens more than a year ago, according to The Washington Post. Boynton suggested the board has no authority to regulate animal massage. Clemens had sued the board for the right to practice.
