In April, the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) announced its collaboration with the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The collaboration’s focus was on research analyses of the effectiveness of therapeutic massage in care provided to inpatients in the hospital from July 2005 through December 2009.

Yesterday a press release from the AMTA announced the association will release the preliminary analyses at its annual national convention in Portland, Oregon, which runs Oct. 19¬–22.

“[W]e are especially excited about the release on Thursday of the preliminary analysis of years of massage research from our collaboration with the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota,” said AMTA President Glenath Moyle.
