(April 2010) Paul Lewis’s Multi-language Instructional DVD for In-Chair Massage wins two Bronze Telly Awards in this year’s 31st Annual Telly Awards’ competition. He won in two separate categories: the ‘How to- Instructional’ category judged by the Silver Telly Council and he won in the People’s Telly Award special non-broadcast category judged by the public on YouTube’s People’s Telly Channel for public viewing. It is a remarkable achievement to be recognized for his creative excellence by both the prestigious expert panel of judges and by the general public. It is not surprising that Paul’s entry won in both categories considering his DVD contains 7 languages widening the audience base and the wealth of information that reaches out beyond the massage therapists to fitness specialists and other health care professionals, demonstrating, and suggesting ways of extending a career through safe and effortless delivery of techniques designed to minimize joint pain and stiffness that so many in the health industry comment about.
The Telly is one of the most sought-after awards by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies. There are over 200 categories and more than 14,000 entries yearly from all US states and from five continents around the world. Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards honor the very best in film and video productions, web videos, TV programs, and commercials from the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. Past winners include Harpo Studios, The WOW Factor, Inc., BET News, ESPN, Penn State University, Golf Channel, PGA Tour Productions, Discovery Communications, Sports Illustrated, The Weather Channel, Time Life, Warner Bros., Disney Destinations, NBC Universal.
All judges of the 31st Annual Telly Awards are members of the Silver Telly Council and are past winners. The Council is comprised of 350 accomplished industry professionals who are empowered to maintain the traditional high standards characteristic of the Telly competition. All entries are judged against their high standard of merit. Silver Winners are awarded a Silver Telly statuette, the highest honor. Bronze Winners are awarded a Bronze Telly statuette. Designed by the same firm that makes the Oscar® and Emmy®, every statuette is custom made. Paul will soon receive his two statuettes and certificates and, because of this accolade, he has been invited to a cocktail reception and awards ceremony honoring the 2010 Telly Awards Hall of Fame Inductees: Harpo Studios, ESPN, and Time Warner Cable at the NAB Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 14, 2010.
Lewis received his congratulatory letter from Telly as soon as he arrived home from Japan this week. Paul was in Japan promoting his DVD and conducting advanced upper body techniques for the Table workshops to sold out crowds. Surprised and still jetlagged, he humbly comments, “WOW! I am so honored to win and I have to thank everyone who was involved. This certainly propels my enthusiasm for the release of my second DVD focusing on Advanced Treatment Techniques on the Table. I am just awaiting confirmation of sponsorship and doing the final editing, it will be released this summer.” The Multi-lingual In-Chair Massage Instructional DVD featuring Paul Lewis is being distributed worldwide. All 7 languages including English, French, Spanish, German, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Japanese are offered on the single 60 minute DVD.
Paul’s DVD has received nothing but positive reviews from the biggest names in the massage therapy industry. Its success is driven by the passion and focus of its creator, Paul Lewis RMT. The contents of the DVD prepare the therapist for performing a safe and effective in-chair therapeutic massage on a client in a seated position. Basic and advanced modified Swedish massage techniques including the introduction of joint mobilizations are clearly demonstrated with proper biomechanics. Warm-up, self-care and grounding exercises are included to reduce stress on the body. Treatment modalities are combined in the sample routines. Suggestions of alternative uses, assessment and strategies for integrating therapeutic in-chair massage into your existing practice are mentioned. A step by step demonstration on how to properly adjust and maintain the massage chair is another very useful component of this DVD.
Paul Lewis is a Registered Massage Therapist: CMTO (Canada), NCBTMB (USA), FHT (Europe) approved provider. He speaks Japanese and has a Black Belt in Aikido.
