More than 100 professionals recognized for commitment and devotion to wellness service
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Massage Envy Spa, the largest employer of massage therapists and estheticians in the United States, was pleased to announce the 108 Therapists and Estheticians of the Year at its Annual Franchise Conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada. In recognition of Massage Envy Spa’s focus on total body care, this year marks the first time to equally recognize the talents of both massage therapists and estheticians that work passionately every day.
Recognizing best-in-class service across the network, Massage Envy Spa’s Therapist of the Year program is an annual award encompassing a network of more than 1,000 Massage Envy Spa locations in the United States. From a group of dedicated and caring staff of more than 25,000 professional massage therapists and estheticians, winners were recognized for their high levels of professionalism, exceptional client care and consistently upholding the tenants of therapeutic touch.

In addition, the fourth annual Legacy Therapist of the Year award, created to honor continued commitment and service to Massage Envy Spa from previous therapist and esthetician of the year winners, went to Wendy Greene from Virginia South. Greene has been with Massage Envy Spa for seven years and has performed more than 6,600 massages. Since first being honored as a 2009 Therapist of the Year, she has become a mentor for new therapists, offering support and coaching on becoming more efficient in client counseling and massage techniques. She also serves as an ambassador for Massage Envy Spa at local massage therapy schools and clinics.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment for massage therapists is expected to increase through 23 percent from 2012 to 2022, adding 30,000 more jobs to the field. And U.S. News & World Report reported that massage therapy was named one of The Best Jobs in 2014 and one of The Best Health Care Jobs in 2014. Massage Envy Spa has created more than 21,000 new massage therapist positions and projects to add 1,500 new positions annually through 2018.
